Social enterprise on Merseyside

Social enterprise on merseyside is gaining ground - businesses with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose in the business or the community, rather than being driven by the need to maximise profit for shareholders and owners

The Merseyside Social Enterprise Initiative (MSEI) started in July 2001. Initially led by NWDA and supported by Merseyside Expanding Horizons as Accountable Body, MSEI is developing through a wide and inclusive partnership, the Merseyside Social Enterprise Group.

MSEI is led by the Northwest Development Agency (NWDA) and is supported by funds from NWDA and European Objective One funding. Merseyside Expanding Horizons play a vital role as Accountable Body for Social enterprise on Merseyside.
